  1. Method -
    1. Wash the Sabudana nicely. Remove all the starch. Rinse and wash the Sabudana a couple of times.
    2. Add 3/4 cup of water to the Sabudana. Make sure that it covers the sabudana. 
    3. After that Soak the Sabudana for a minimum of 6 hours. If you can soak overnight then best.
    4. Next day add peanut powder to the Sabudana. This is as per your taste and also as per the quantity of the Sabudana.
    5. Next, add Red Chilli powder and salt to it. Mix well.
    6. Take a non-stick pan. Add ghee, a pinch of Asafoetida, 1 tsp of jeera, 1 slit green chili. Mix well.
    7. Add the chopped potatoes. Fry the potatoes. cover with a lid and cook till the potatoes are done.
    8. Next, add the Sabudana mixed with red chili powder and salt. Mix well. Cover with a lid and let it cook till it's done around 10-15 minutes.
    9. Add sugar to it. Sprinkle lemon juice garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.

Note

Please note the following while making this Sabudana Khichadi.

  1. Soak the Sabudana at least for min of 6 hours.
  2. If you can soak overnight great.
  3. Add only 3/4th cup of water. This measurement is for 1/2 - 1 cup of Sabudana.
  4. Make sure that the water covers the Sabudana till the top.
  5. Don't add too much of water. The water measurement is specific to the 1/2 -1 cup of Sabudana.
  6. Make sure that first you rinse and wash the Sabudana very well couple of times around 4-5 times to remove the starch.
